Objectives

 

     The educational objectives in the Department of Mechanical Engineering are designed to provide a background for a wide variety of careers. The curriculum emphasizes the  combining of theories and techniques to foster a well-trained mechanical engineer.  Graduates of our program are able to enter various production manufacturing industries, government laboratories and agencies, or to continue their studies on a graduate level.  The academic programs available are machine design and manufacturing, electro-mechanical systems, automation and digital control, reverse engineering, semi-conductor processes, optical components, rapid prototyping, software analysis and design, as well as, the knowledge of Nano-technology.

      The Mechanical Engineering curriculum is designed to

Familiarizes students with basic knowledge and engineering applications.

Enhance the professional skills in the field of electro-mechanical systems and automation engineering, and mastering the engineering analysis and machine design software.

Help students to pass a variety of skill proficiency tests and obtain professional certificates approved by the governing and other agencies.

 

 

Faculties

 

      The Department has 22 faculty members made up of, 1 professor, 3 associate professors, 4 assistant professors and 14 instructors.  Among the faculty, 16 are holding one or more professional certificates.  The students in our program are in high demand after their graduation.

 

 

Laboratories

 

      The Department has 12 engineering laboratories: Mechanical Material Testing, Electro-mechanics, Precision Measuring and Processing, Control Unit, CNC, PLC, Pneumatic and Hydraulic, Manufacturing Automation, Computer Interface, Machine Shops, Computer Aided Machine Drawing and Design, and a practicing-training showroom.
